Thanks so much for reporting the error. We’re aware of the issue with the new version and are preparing a fix as soon as possible. We should have a fixed version out today. Sincere apologies for the difficulties.

This seems to be a duplication of the error previously[1] reported. Solution is being developed.

Problem fixed after upgraded to Askimet v4.0.6.

How were you able to update the plugin if you’re unable to get in? I’m still stuck with the error code and can’t get in.

I updated the new version of the Akismat Anti Spam plugin yesterday and cannot log in to my dashboard anymore. I get the following error.
Fatal error: Can’t use function return value in write context in /home1/musizman/public_html/lyonsmusic.com/wp-content/plugins/akismet/class.akismet-admin.php on line 1060
Please advise what I need to do.
Look forward to hearing from you ASAP.
I don’t know how to go in and use FTP to fix.

    hey Sam,
kindly disable the plugin using your Cpanel and file manager- and then reinstall the updated version(version 4.0.6). to disable the plugin go to cpanel>>>file manager>>>public_html>>>wp-contents>>>plugin, and find the plugin (akismet) then do right click on this nd take the action “delete”. then go to your dashboard it will open finely. now, install the plugin again.

if the method worked or not worked, kindly update here.

I have Network Solutions hosting and the most current versions WordPress 4.9.6, Askiment 4.0.8 When I install via a zip file I receive: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880bytes) in /data/6/2/96/139/2585628/user/2835223/htdocs/wp-admin/menu.php on line 101

When I try to install from the plug in from the WordPress control panel, I receive the message: Installation failed: Internal Server Error

I have tried reinstalling WordPress and deactivated all plugins.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@wwpond You’ll need to contact Network Solutions for help with that issue. Sounds like there’s something else going on aside from Akismet.
