• Hi
Recently decided to move some clients from Joomla to WordPress. Current development using a Shape 5 Vertex Template. Having problems installing NextGen Gallery. Comes up with the following error:-
“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”

    Plugin downloaded from this site.

    Other plugins in use:-
Template Specific: S5_Accordian Menu; S5_Box; S5 Front Display; S5 Image and Content Fader; S5 Image Scroll v2; S5 Image Slide, S5 Mapit with Google; S5 Tabshow and S5 Vertical Accordian.

Besides template specific plugins are Shortcodes Ultimate. TinyMCE Advanced, Widget Context.

It may be that the template specific image and galleries pluging conflict with NextGen. Before de-activating these (a number of pages already use some of them), I thought it may be wise to find out is their may be another reason that I can quick fix

    Thank you.

    Site in development on localhost.

@rockyswartz – Without know what the exact fatal error was we could only make random guesses at this time.

Also, what local environment are you using for your development?

Difficult say what the error was. The only message I got after uplaod and trying to activate was “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”

@rockyswartz – What are you using for the developer environment “software”? In most cases the actual hardware will not be a factor in local development issues.

Have you looked in the error_log files for any recent references that point to NextGEN Gallery?
