Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

  • Got the same error on my end. On top of that, there are no plugin update notifications when you upgrade to WordPress 4.0.

    If you try to install manually, on the main plugin screen it says: “Plugin incompatible with your WordPress version” and when you try to use the Install button on the plugin details Modal window, the above error is thrown.
