I don't think there will be any load problems because it is only when the content has been added/deleted the will be any processing.

The processing you are mentioning is not simple. It is not a single step process. The gallery id is used to process scan which involves other steps. I haven’t seen any plugin which does similar kind of functionality. From development point of view I feel its not possible. In words it seem simple to describe the functionality.

What about photo gallery plugins such as ungallery or laziest gallery?

Thanks for the input. I will have to check those. The main difference here is, its all about video files.

Just made a few modifications on the plugin to see this functionality. Here is what it does.

You copy videos to your video gallery folder. When a short code is added post/page content and when it is viewed the video gets added to gallery and thumbnail and details are saved. On successive page display these will not be performed.

But there can be a delay in front end if there is a lot of video to be added in this manner. Otherwise this can be done.

Cross domain is a issue that can only be controled from the server where the video is located at, right?

Does it apply with jwplayer, being a flash application and all…

It’ll be nice to have the ability to rename video titles. Maybe another column next to Video Description. Thanks!

Removing the word “DESCRIPTION” under CVG Slideshow.

It shows already the description just like the CVG Showcase.
Anyway not to have the word DESCRIPTION before the description.

It would be nice if one could do a keyword search of youtube from within your plugin e.g. here:

https://mysite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=cvg-gallery-add

And then you present them with a list of youtube results and then the admin can pick and choose which videos are added to the WP site (and the category).

Here’s a couple:

Galleries that can be videos AND stills in any order (great for things like design agency portfolios);

Video player and image display have independent sizes – so a video could open at 360×140, and an image at 500×500, etc., sizes set in the gallery list of media vs. globally for the gallery;

A title AND a description field available, that could be styled separately.

All of the above would create a “media portfolio”, with a grid of thumbnails with titles and descriptions, and clicking a thumb could open a video, a screen grab of a web design, a logo design, etc. I haven’t found anything like this so far.

I couldn’t find in plugin settings so if it’s there, I apologize.

Similar to NextGEN Gallery, in the settings, allow admin to assign which roles can perform tasks. It’d be nice if I could allow my editors and authors to manage and/or upload videos. But I’d like to restrict certain roles from changing gallery settings and/or video player settings.

(Or, alternatively, allow a plugin like the Members plugin to control such settings by role.)

Amazing plugin, exactly what it takes to offer a simple and efficient video gallery.

What I’d like to do though is to translate it in french, but I haven’t been able to do so yet, so if you could include a .pot file in a language folder.
I’ve been trying to create one, but CVG never reads it so, since I’m not enough familiar with plugin development yet, I can’t figure out how to start the translation myself.
