• As I say, this is a brilliant plugin – the best one I’ve found for ICO compliance.

Can I suggest a couple of features that I’d like to see?

    1. First of all I was initially confused when nothing appeared on my site – I eventually realised that the cookie prompt doesn’t appear when you’re signed in. Is there a possibility of an option to switch this functionality on and off as I’d like to see the box when signed in (good for testing!)
    2. Secondly, my belief is that the cookie regulations apply to visitors from any EU country. I’d therefore like the prompt to appear for any of the EU countries. By default this works for UK only and finding and ticking just the EU countries is a pain. Can I suggest a simple way to choose all EU countries or even all countries?

Thanks again for a great plugin.
    David.

    Actually, a further request.

Upon accessing my site at work I found that the cookie request didn’t appear. Using the Debug mode I found that my country, based upon the IP, was returned as “Unknown”.

Ideally I’d like an option where I can decide what to do under this circumstance – personally I’d like to trigger the cookie message.

Sorry, one (last) suggestion. I’ve been setting it up today, hence why these suggestions keep appearing!

Would it be possible to add donottrack support to the plugin? If the visitor has it enabled in their browser it would automatically suppress the cookies without the need for a prompt.

I believe, from what I’ve seen, the check can be performed via a line of JS.

    Hi! Thanks for the kudos!

The UK is selected by default as it’s the only EC member that has defined how to handle cookies, but I’d be happy have all the other EC members selected by default (it’s easier to de-select them afterall ?? )

I see that you’ve already found the “Debug mode”, which allows you to test how and when the alert is being displayed.

It makes good sense to allow you to decide whether to show an alert when the country is “Unknown”, so I will add that option.

And I’d be happy to add the DNT/X-Do-Not-Track header support in there as well, so the alert won’t be shown but automatically assumed the visitor has opted out (if DNT is set to 1/true, that is).

I really appreciate the feedback, so I can improve the plugin. Thanks! ??

    Good to hear from you.

That’s no problem – I’m a plugin developer myself and I always appreciate feedback myself (there’s nothing worse than hearing nothing from your users!).

All of my suggestions have been implemented – many thanks for this!
