After a long research I found out that the best solution for all of us that would like to keep the “expired” posts available for SEO purposes but hidden from users would be to redirect all users that bump in to expired post to get redirected to the “post category”
One way of doing it could be with adding a custom field…
I use redirections to specific url by custom field, but I cannot add them with any post expiration plugin, therefore I believe this could be a way… adding a “redirect” custom field with “%category of the post” value after expiration time….hope this can be done with your plugin…
