[Plugin: Contact Form 7 to Database Extension] Custom Validation Hooks for CF7

  • @michael Simpson You posted a question about custom validation hooks on the CF7 forum but now that thread is closed and I’m not getting any replies to my new thread so I figured I try you here.

    What I’m trying to do seems simple but I can’t get it to work. I’m using CF7, CFDB, and Jquery Validation For CF7 (which I deactivated and still got no where) I have a CF7 test form which uses jquery to toggle the view of specific fields based on whether a “parent” radio button was selected or not. – that works fine.

    My problem is that when I go to validate the form it’s getting stuck on fields which are required but are hidden. I’m not a coder (followed directions from the CF7 forum to get it working) and was told that the problem is not in my jquery but in the php code. I have no idea how to create the custom validation code to get the form to check if the field is hidden before it tries to validate it and if it’s hidden it should skip it during validation. Any ideas?

    I haven’t actually tried using this kind of validation with CF7. Sounds like this is all validation in the browser and relates to CF7 but not Contact Form 7 to Database Extension. I suggest reposting on the CF7 forum.
