• I’m running WP 3.1.1 on a developmental desktop and just installed CF7 — seemingly successfully. (The site’s menu now has a “Contact” button and up comes the e-mail form). A test e-mail fails however with:

Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact administrator by other way.

No surprise, really. How is CF7 to know how to connect to the outside world? Aren’t there settings to be filled out somewhere? The documentation says…

Log into WordPress and open Contact > Edit.

…but other than my e-mail address, there’s nothing there other than what a sender would fill in.

  • Is your desktop machine set up with a mail server? It not, the form will not work locally.

Should be fine on a remote install, just not something that will work locally.

Thanks. I’ll assume that’s it and try installing at the server end.
