• Hello,

I am trying to get the contact form to work on my website. I have extracted the files to the plugin directory, activated it and created a new form via the tools menu.

After saving the form I created a new page called “Contact Us” and pasted the following into it:

    [contact-form 1 "Contact Us"]

I then tried to leave a comment for myself but it gives the error “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact administrator by other way.”

Is there something I am missing? Everything looks great, I can see the fields, my akismet key is working and I typed out a message that shouldn’t look like spam and it still gives the red block.

  • i have installed this plug but iam not receiving emails i get this message after pressing send “Your message was sent successfully. Thanks.”
How can i solve it think you

Hey sruthinmn, did you ever solve this problem, I’ve got the same one.

this plugin apparently does not work with wordpress 2.8. The script says the message is sent, but nothing hits the server what so ever. I even put in the wp_smtp plugin from above which works and I recommend it. The wp_smtp plugin sends emails flawlessly. This specific plugin just isnt working with version 2.8. Status should be changed to NOT SOLVED.

    hi, IT HAS BEEN SOLVED

I was having same problem. There is nothing wrong with WordPress scripts nor with Contact Form Plugin. Its all with your localhost setting in C-panel.

Its all due to MXentry setting problem in your website c-panel.

I am using WordPress 2.8.1 and Atahualpa 3.3.3 theme. I am using the plugin Contact 7 (version 1.10.1) form within the Text Widget (see https://www.lifem.org.uk). However, I have not received any email comment so far and did just a test email using one of my email accounts – got no email. So it seems something is not working… can you help please, as I am afraid many people will complain for not receiving any replies, when in fact I do not receive their emails…

    @aredorange

which web hosting providers service you are using? are you using Google mail application for your mail? is your website hosted in c-panel?

    Hi !
I read all the post, I use OVH and I’ve installed WP mail SMTP.
When I send a test email with WP mail SMPT, it works but it’s still not working with CF7. I tried to look if the php mail() has been replaced by wp_mail() but I didn’t find anything in the plugin’s php. Please help me.

until the author of this plugin gets around to fixing it you can either try the above fix which may or may not work ( havnt tried it) or you can use this contact form in stead. It works flawlessly, and is just as easy to use.

I had the same problem with Contact Form 7, and it works perfectly now because I deactivated the Mailpress plugin.

    Hope this helps someone!

    PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

The important thing is that you enter an e-mail address from your domain in the From field in the Mail section of the Contact Form 7 Settings page.

Many ISPs will not allow you to send mail unless the From e-mail address is the same as your domain’s.

For example, enter [email protected] in the From field, if your domain is yourdomain.com.

This solved it for me. I tried WP Mail SMTP and fiddling with the php.ini and wp-config.php settings but it didn’t work and it wasn’t necessary. Switching to other Contact Forms didn’t help either.

I was also having problems with getting this form to work on my server. Here is what I did to solve my problems:

Hope that helps some others of you out there!

This is THE fix for WP Email problems. Works like a charm!

    Thanks!

    Fixed my problems!

I think the issue is that my host smtp requires authentication and this plugin allowed me to set that.

I even made a small php page to test the email on my server, this worked, but only when I did not set any headers or additional params for mail(), so I knew it wasn’t the server.
