    Hi there,
I am not receiving emails through my contact form. Here is the link to the contact page

    and here is the code.

    <p>Your Name<br />
        [text your-name] </p>

    <p>Your Email (required)<br />
        [email* your-email] </p>

    <p>Subject<br />
        [text your-subject] </p>

    <p>Your Message<br />
        [textarea your-message] </p>

    <p>[captchac captcha-918 size:s]
    [captchar captcha-918]</p>

    <p>[submit \"Send\"]</p>

Does anyone see a problem with this? I can’t for the life of me figure out why it’s doing this. I use google apps to host my email if that helps.

  • hi esmi,

thanks I had them check and they said once form is filled out it send the mail to [email protected]

But other CC’s on the form still work!

    Any suggestions?

And what email address did you enter in To: field of the Mail panel when setting up this form?

    esmi,

    entered [email protected]

Are your hosts also your domain registrars?

    elsi,

    NO.

Right – I think there’s an issue with the way in which you are pointing your domain at your hosting. Because your hosts are not managing your domain, your site’s “real” url is web32.justhost.com. So all emails from that domain will be from @web32.justhost.com.

You could try confirming this with your hosts but I’m pretty sure that this is the root of your problem.

    esmi,

What you said makes sense, but how to correct without moving registrars?

That’s something you need to discuss with your hosts. Hopefully, you will just need to make some minor changes in your domain name and/or hosting account. I haven’ seen this particular problem very often although plenty of site owners host with one company and manage the domain(s) with another. So – with luck – it’s just a minor oversight that can be easily corrected.

    esmi,

Thank you for the help. I will contact the host and see if they can assist.

Good luck. If you don’t get any joy, you can always post here again with a short summary of what you’ve tried previously. Maybe someone will come up with a way around the problem.

    esmi,

great suggestion. i sure will. thanks again for your help thus far -please post if you think of anything I can try.

SOLVED: I contacted support to check SMTP logs and we figured out that the outgoing servers were set by default when we ‘parked’ the domain. Since we are NOT hosted on the domain registrar they cleared all MX records out of their system and everything worked after that!!!!

thank you esmi for pointing me in the right direction.

I seem to have found another issue around this… Here is my experience over the last 2 days.

Firstly, I am using CF7 in conjuction with WP-Mail-SMTP.
From within WP-Mail-SMTP, I was able to send test mails with no problem. All of a sudden, all the mails coming from CF7 were showing the recipient email address (mydomain.com) as the sender as well. This was working before, but all of a sudden, no longer.

I tried everything from uninstalling to reinstalling plugins, the works. Having read these forums and tried numerous other things, I still had no luck.

It even got to the point that when I hit the submit button on my form, nothing would happen – no message, no mail – nothing!

This morning, I changed my permalinks back to the default setting, and VOILA! I now get the message displayed after hitting submit button, and I get the email!! YAY!!

Problem is, I the sender still appears as the same address as the recipient. Fortunately though, the sender email address that appears in the body of the mail is indeed correct… but it would be nice if we could get to the bottom of this.

BTW – I am hosting with HostExcellence, so no GoDaddy issues here…

Just a note to followup, if you have bluehost, godaddy or other 3rd party hosts you may be having your emails filtered out as spam before it hits your inbox.

See this post for the easy solution that solved the problem for me:

no wonder im not getting any more design jobs, my contact form is broken!

I just installed this on a new clients site. Fresh wordpress install, fresh install of the current beta version and no go.

Sending tests to my gmail account and having the same problem as everyone else. Some go to spam, some just dont arrive.

Hopefully theres a fix soon. this was by far the best contact form plugin available.
