[Plugin: Contact Form 7] IP Address & User Agent Info
-
Your plug-in seams to be working fine. I just have a couple of quick questions.
I’d like to be able to be able to collect the IP Address and the User Agent info as a part of your form. Then I’d like to include both independently (Possibly as [short-tags]) in the “MAIL > Message body:” and “MAIL 2 > Message body:” area of your plug-in. Do you know an easy way to do this
If you go to: https://www.bamajr.com/2010/09/11/moment-of-silence-remember-september-11th-2001/ and read the comment, you’ll see part of what I’m looking for. That part is made possible by the “WP User Agent” WordPress Plug-in.
As for the IP Address, I’m looking to include the “REAL” or “PUBLIC” IP Address of the computer, the user is utilizing to browse my site and send the form.
On your Plug-in Site, you advertise: “E-mail message footer shows blog username(if logged on), Date/Time timestamp, IP address, and user agent (browser version) of user who contacted you.”
I don’t find any of this information in a footer. I find it in a header, but I only find the IP Address of the server on which the form (your contact form) resides. It does not log the IP Address of the computer being used.
When you go to https://www.whatsmyip.net it displays the public IP Address. It manages not to show the private IP Address of the actual computer (I.E. PC has IP Address of 192.168.1.100, but Whats My IP.net shows IP Address: 64.199.230.110).
If I had my choices, Id like to see the Public IP Address, the Gateway IP Address (behind the Public IP Address) and the Private IP Address of the actual PC being used.
Can any of this be done?
