I would like to know if there is a way to hide unused tags in the email that Contact Form 7 sends. For example, my form has four checkbox choices. The user can select one, some or all of them. When CF7 sends the email to me, the tags in the email that have been checked are replaced (for example, if the user checks “sign up for newsletter” the email says “sign up for newsletter”) and the tag for anything that is not checked remains in the email as code (if the user does not check “sign up”, the email says [newsletter].

Is there a way to hide those unused tags in the email, so that if the user doesn’t check “sign up” the tag just doesn’t appear in the email at all?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think this is a bug in the new release.

Any checkbox field used in a form gets it’s shortcode printed in the message body of the email if it is not used. (Just as you’ve described)

I am rolling back to a previous version of the plugin until this gets addressed. Too many of my clients would be confused by this bit of code in the email, especially since it’s mainly used to opt in to a newsletter subscription.

UPDATE: Rolling back to the previous version did just work for me.

Rolled back to version 3.0 worked for me to remove shortcode for unused checkboxes.

Is there a quick, easy way to roll back to 3.0 without losing my existing forms?
