[Plugin: Contact Form-7] form is not displaying on page

  • I have used Contact form-7 with other WP themes before and had no problems setting it up. However, on this new project the form is not showing up on the page, only the shortcode appears [contact-form-7 id=”1143″ title=”Contact form 1″]. See https://blacksheepreggaeband.com/about-us/contact-us/ for an example of the problem.
    I contacted the theme author and after reviewing my site using WP admin and my error logs this is his comment [There seems to be a compatibility issue with your server and the plugin, If i enable the default wordpress theme the error remains which usually shows either a host server setting or plugin error. The best would either to make contact with your host or plugin author.]
    I am using WordPress 3.3.2 . Please help. Thank you.

  • Hi,
    hope I can help , do followings :
    – edit in html the page/post content and remove the <p> tags around the shortcode
    – it may be something wrong with the theme, activate twentyten or twentyeleven theme to see if the problem persists
    – make sure you copy/paste the code exactly
    – it may be something wrong with some of the plugins, try deactivating them one by one and see if the problem still persists

    Thanks for your help. I have isolated the problem to the settings for the SMTP Host. I have SMTP Host set to localhost. My host is Verio. (When I tested using GoDaddy as host, everything worked as expected.)
    Has anyone used Contact Form-7 with SMTP Host? Do I need to specify the server path instead of localhost?
    Communicating with Verio Support has been a challenging(to put it nicely) so any help would be appreciated.
