Like several other users in the past few days, i’m having no luck getting the custom fields to work.

    the page is https://officeportkc.com/become-a-member

Digitz, i think everyone knows how to use the tag generator and enter the fields in to the form designer and save that. you’ll notice all the fields are published on the website. However, the email that’s sent only sends the submitter’s email, their name, and the default response field. In other words, none of the custom fields are submitted, even though they are published to the website and appear to work.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thank you in advance.

  • You have to add the new tag to the email portion below. Look at what it is currently set up to send you. This is NOT a problem with the form.

so if the new tag is [menu-981] then you have to add that to the “message body” portion of your email results. reply if you need help

I love how this guy gets a response in 3 hours when I asked this question 2 days ago.

Anyway, that explains the whole problem there. When you are generating the form it tells you to add the information to the form on the left and not the message body below.

Copy this code and paste it into the form left.

Looks like it’s confusing a lot of people.

    thanks porscheguy!!! solved!

works beautifully now. i didn’t realize that the form area design would not automatically load in to the message body. like jbryant1027, i was thrown off by the ‘copy this into form left.’ also when i tried to tinker around with the message body at first, i’d dump the entire contents of the custom tags in – rather than cutting out all but the identifier. So it’d just send me the text i put in “message body” rather than what users submitted. but doing what you said works great, and for anyone else with this issue, your “Message Body” should look something like this (plus whatever formatting / text you want to add):

    [your-name]
    [your-email]
    [text-107]
    [radio-505]
    [menu-965]
    [textarea-245]
    [text-880]

I’m completely new to all of this and I can’t even get the form to generate. Can anyone put this into simple terms for me. When I add what I think is the code to the html part of the page, it simply doesn’t show the text fields but just shows as the code that should generate it. I hope that makes sense. Please help me!

Ok, I finally got the form made but when I fill it out and submit it, it gives me this….

‘Failed to send your message. Please try again later.’

What could be causing me to get this error when all the fields are filled out properly?

This is the page I’m working on that it won’t work.
