[Plugin: Contact Form 7] Adding initial field text as a watermark

I’m using [text* your-name 29/ watermark “Your Name”] but noting shows in the fields of the form on the live site at all.
I’ve tried a few variations of syntax but nothing is working for me.
Anyone have suggested fix for this?
