[Plugin: Contact Form 7] Adding additional header gives 503 error on live server, not production ser

Typo ??

Which is to say, I’m still seeing this problem. What could cause it?

503 means Service Unavailable.

It is not relating to the Bcc value. Why not contact the support of server host?

That’s the strange part; accessing the site in EVERY other way works fine. Only when adding Bcc: [email protected] and clicking save do I see the 503… that is the only time.

Is it possible something is being sent when using that field that would trigger a 503?

If it helps, seems to not exhibit the above if using a different header:

Reply-To: some name <[email protected]>

Check your web server’s error log if possible.

Okay, the problem is with our security rules. To prevent spam, we do not allow you to use BCC on a web-based form.

daweb, thank you for sharing info. I haven’t known that DreamHost has such security rules.
