Plugin Conflict with WpDiscuz
-
Hello,
I have discovered a bug that causes an Error 403 in Chrome Dev Console for a specific PHP file that is part of the wpDiscuz WordPress plugin. Here are the steps to repeat to reproduce the issue.
1) Go to the WordPress Admin Dashboard with SiteGround Security and WPDiscuz plugins active.
2) In wpDiscuz > Settings > General Settings make sure “Use WordPress native AJAX Functions” is disabled.”
3) In SG Security enable all Site Security settings.
4) Visit a single post page and you will see the Error 403 for the file “example.com/wp-content/plugins/wpdiscuz/utils/ajax/wpdiscuz-ajax.php”
The two solutions I have found so far are to either, enable the “Use WordPress Native AJAX Functions” or disable the “Lock and Protect System Folders option in SG Security”.
Perhaps you can take a look and find a better solution. Another possible solution would be to exclude specific files like in the SG Optimizer plugin.
Let me know if you need any further information from me.
