Plugin Conflict With Posts in Sidebar Plugin

This plugin is conflicting with my posts in sidebar plugin. I’m trying to use this to hide the “news” category posts on the main blog page…but I use Posts in Sidebar plugin to display the “news” category in my left sidebar on the homepage. I’m trying to have my “news” separate from my “blog.” Is there any way to get this issue corrected?
