If I have WooCommerce active I receive a critical error.

We have a store on BigCommerce and would like to be able to embed products on our WordPress website. We need WooCommerce on our site to sell courses.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi @sara-greenlaw

I can say that WooCommerce + BigCommerce on the same site is a bad idea in so many ways.
If it were me here is what I would do.

    1) Just use the BigCommerce Store that comes with your account and theme it to look like your WordPress site. And on your Navigation set up a Custom link on your WordPress navigation to link to your BigCommerce Store. And on the BigCommerce store make sure to have a custom link back to your WordPress site. If done right, you can have both looking seamless to the average site visitor.

    OR

    2) Set up two WordPress installs, one using your main root domain name as you have it now. The second WordPress install set it up as a sub-domain. Theme the sub-domain install to look just like your main site, but on this install use it specifically for either your BigCommerce store OR your Courses.

I don’t think trying to get WooCommerce and BigCommerce to both work on the same install is a battle I wouldn’t even want to fight. But that’s me.

    Good luck to you!
