[Plugin: Configure SMTP] SMTP Error

    Hi
    I am having issues even sending the test email. Constatly getting the following error.
    SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

    Failed to connect to server
    Connection timed out

    I have deactivated every single plug in and retried but still the same result.

    Another issue of concern is that even though I deactivated this plug in and deleted it and the files, when I re-installed it the old settings were still there. Is this storing the information somwhere that is not getting deleted when its removed?

    I get this on a GoDaddy-hosted WP install whether I try using a Gmail or using one of the GoDaddy customer’s other domains with an email address I’ve confirmed is able to send outbound mail through GoDaddy’s web client.

    Any recommendations?

    its the same issue i’ve been facing, godaddy has become a pain and don’t know what to do.

    I’ve had this plugin working perfectly on a clients website. Last weekend the HDD of their hosters server died. They replaced it, put the backups back but now the configure SMTP plugin stopped working!

    SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.

    Connection timed out

    Contacted the hoster to see if anything has changed. They told me it’s possibly because of the fact that they changed the version of Direct Admin (hosting administration software) and they told me that this version uses dovecot instead of pop3d. Can someone shine any light on this? Is there anything I can change in the plugin settings or code to make this working again?
