• I have two plugins, winex and bookx. Winex is released, via putting the directory 0.1 in the /tags part of SVN. Firstly, that is correct right?

    2) To release 0.2 do I just create another directory in /tags named 0.2?

Another oddity is that bookx released, but shouldnt have. There isnt anything in /tags
    https://svn.wp-plugins.org/bookx/tags/

only in trunk, but for some reason it created the zip file and released it. How can I fix that?

    Thanks!

  • Your “stable tag” in the readme file dictates where the “official” release comes from. I think the system will use that to point to the tag if it’s available, but it seems that it decides that “trunk” is the official release if the given tag does not exist.

So if you use anything other than “trunk”, if that tag doesn’t exist, it defaults back to “trunk”. (Just guessing, only the folks who wrote the scripts would know for sure).

I’m betting the “trunk/readme.txt” dictates which tag directory is used for the ZIP file. But hopefully someone who knows more will clarify if this is not correct.

No, I have been playing with it for a while, and I think you have it.

Basically, because in the readme, I had a stable version (I had just copied and pasted) it caused it to look for it, but since it didnt find it, it just used what was in trunk.

Man for the life of me I couldnt see how this happened, but I think you are exactly right.

    Thank you!
