• Before upgrading to 4.2, How can I be sure that my plugins will work? Especially “Page Specific Menu”, “Contact Form 7”, and “WP Latest Posts”

    My website is cpnn-world.org/new

There is no absolute guarantee – but you can go to each plugin’s page and look at how recently it’s been updated and what’s happening on the support forum for that plugin.

And make sure that your theme is being updated – looks like that’s a custom theme?

Thank you for your reply, WPyogi. As for my theme it is a Twentythirteen child. Isn’t that automatically updated if I update the site to 4.2? And another question, if I update to 4.2 and a key plugin does not work, can I reverse the process and go back to 4.1.2? If so, how?

Yep, twenty-thirteen child theme SHOULD be fine. The best way to ensure you have a way to reverse the update, is to back up the site files and database first.
