[Plugin: Collapsible Widget Area] I can't get this work

  • I installed this widget. The instructions say to drag another widget onto it in the widgets page. That doesn’t do anything. It says there are options, but they don’t appear to be anywhere. I dragged it (empty) to the sidebar. then dragged something onto it. It didn’t show up on the actual page. I could not drag it OFF the sidebar after it didn’t work. I was forced to deactivate it. When I tried to deactivate it, the thing was still stuck on the sidebar.

    I can’t use it and I can’t kill it.

    First of all, you should have seen a new sidebar in Appearance -> Widgets called “Collapsible Widget Area”. That is where you should drag the widgets that you want to be able to collapse. Do not try to drag “Collapsible Widget” into that area.

    Secondly, after you have placed your desired widgets in the “Collapsible Widget Area” sidebar, you may need to reload the Appearance -> Widgets page, then drag the “Collapsible Widget” into a different sidebar (not the “Collapsible Widget Area” sidebar).

    I have no idea why anything would get stuck anywhere, or why it would cause irrevocable issues. There’s nothing in the plugin that should cause that.
