Plugin code problem

I wanted the “posted x days ago” feature on my posts. I downloaded the plugin from https://binarybonsai.com/wordpress/time-since/ – I activated the plugin, but when I place the code in my index.php file I get the error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/jayzcog/public_html/wp-content/themes/chaoticsoul-10/index.php on line 32
