• Did the display syntax change in v2.6.2? After upgrading this morning, I found that only the primary author’s byline was displayed on multi-author posts, although all authors are still listed in the Post Authors box on the Edit Post page, in the All Posts list, and in the Edit Flow calendar and story budget. Prior to the upgrade, multiple author bylines were included properly in the published post.

We’re using a customized byline block in functions.php to add specialized ID and link info via CoAuthorsIterator; here’s the code.

Did you upgrade your theme template today too?

No, the theme templates did not change today, though other plugins were updated (Cimy User Extra Fields, Post Snippets, User Role Editor)

Can you post your theme templates in pastebin and share here?

Here’s the single post template; were there others that would help?

    Still having trouble with this?

Yes, the problem still exists as previously described (though I’ve now updated Co-Authors Plus to v2.6.3). Here’s a just-published post on our test site that should have displayed two authors’ bylines instead of the one shown.

Where is the news_byline() function used or hooked into your template?

    Thread Starter Steve McConnell

Our templates are in a child theme based on the Hybrid theme. The byline is hooked in as part of Hybrid’s before_entry action. Here’s the relevant entry block from the single-post template in our child theme.

That said, I’ve been doing some more experimenting, including using the current v2.6.3 of Co-Authors Plus with an earlier version of our child theme, and the multiple bylines display properly on posts. So I’m going to look into it with the developer who has been handling the child theme updates.

Cool. It sounds like how it was hooked into the theme might’ve been blown away.
