Plugin Closed–Concerned About Why!

  • Very concerned to see this message about the plugin, as I rely on this plugin, and would be very sad to see it discontinued. Also concerned about whether there is a security issue with continuing to use the plugin while it is “pending a full review.”

    Please let us know what is happening!

    This plugin has been closed as of March 22, 2022 and is not available for download. This closure is temporary, pending a full review.

    Thanks for your concern!

    It turns out the plugin has been temporarily disabled for “copyright infringement”
    — I’m guessing from using the word “Woo” in the plugin name/URL, and the WC logo was used in the banner graphics.

    I was surprised to open the email a couple days ago to find out this had already happened, as I have had no prior notice about this.

    I am currently in the process of updating the plugin and getting it re-reviewed. I will be submitting that today, so hopefully it gets approved soon.

    Thanks for the update, @alexmustin, and sorry to hear this happened–I wish the www.remarpro.com team wouldn’t operate in such a heavy-handed manner, and if there’s anything that we can do to help, please let us know.

    If the reason was “copyright infringement” without any specifics provided, I thought maybe this would be helpful: https://woocommerce.com/trademark-guidelines/ (though a search for “Woo” on the plugin repository here results in scores of plugins with “Woo” in the name that haven’t been closed, so who knows…).
