    The “plugin” Classified Theme for WordPress v1.6 is nothing more than a link to take you to the authors website, where you have to pay $79 to get the theme. The so-called “plugin” does nothing more than that.

    This fake plug-in should be removed from the Plug-in repository for 3 reasons –
    – It is a spoof plug-in of a type equivalent to spam email – unsolicited commercial junk trying to get you to part with your money.
    – The plug-in does not do what it says on the tin in the plugins repository – it does NOT delivery a classifieds site functionality (it is just an advertising redirector to get around the www.remarpro.com rules related to commercial products in the repository.
    – Nowhere in the repository write-up for this pheney plug-in does it state that you will have to pay (a similar amount to buying the latest copy of Windows) in order to receive the theme – to me this is false and misleading advertising on the www.remarpro.com site.

    Automattic – take note – if this is to be the future code of practice on WP.org, it will be blogged about extensively (on more platforms than just WordPress). You need to jump on this NOW!!
    Either delete this “plugin” from the repository and blacklist Mark Fail (the author) or enforce a mandatory disclosure of costs for “premium” plugins, and charge a fee to the authors dropping crap like this into the repository.

  • Definitely a bait and switch going on here. This “plug-in” is nothing more than a developer using it as a way to advertise their services/products.

    The only function of the plug-in is to bring in ad copy for the developer’s site where they charge a premium for their themes.

    Bad juju here.
