After updating our site to WP 6.4 the following message was displayed:

Your customers cannot use Stripe on checkout, because we couldn’t connect to your account. Please go to your settings and,?set your Stripe account keys.

    And at the same time

The backend of our site became very slow, almost to the point of being unresponsive. We disabled All plugins and restarted them one by one. When we restarted the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway plugin the system again became slow and unresponsive.

We have temporarily deactivated the plugin as the system is virtually unusable with it running.

Additional Notes: We have checked the account keys and they are present and correct.

Attempting to resave the keys fails produced an “Error Saving Account Keys” message.

Testing the connection from the account key modal worked with no issues.

    Hey @gsallman ,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that you are seeing the above error with regard to Stripe however, it isn’t immediately clear where you are seeing this, or what actions trigger the error.

Can you please confirm what actions lead to this error and kindly share a screenshot of the error exactly as you are seeing it on your end? If you do not already have a screenshot tool installed,?Snipboard.io?can be used for easily sharing screenshots.

Additionally, please can you share the following:

    • Stripe logs: go to WooCommerce → Settings → Logs and click the dropdown to select the latest Stripe logs.
    • System Status Report: navigate to WooCommerce → Status. Select Get system report and then Download for Support. This will download a TXT file that has the contents of the SSR which you can then share with us here.

    Hi there!

I appreciate you reporting this. As mentioned earlier, the issue looks to be under investigation, and?this GitHub discussion?has already made reference to it.

It’s likely being caused by a change in WordPress, which is being reverted. While waiting for this to be fixed, you can downgrade WordPress using?this plugin,?or you can do a manual downgrade following?this tutorial.

Before you downgrade, I strongly advise you to make a full backup of your site in case things don’t go as planned.

For updates, subscribe to the?GitHub thread?by clicking the Subscribe button in the right sidebar.

    Best regards.
