Plugin Causing a huge slow down with EventEspresso

    I use the EventEspresso event management plugin(EE4)
    I’ve been fault tracking a huge performance issue, whereby registrations take between 30 seconds and 1 minute to process, when it should take just a few seconds.

    I have disabled all plugins, and EE4 runs very well, reactivating all plugins one by one. Sadly it is Easy WP SMTP that is causing the problem. (I’ve retested several times)

    I’ve sent a test email from your settings page and it takes about 15 seconds to process.

    I note there is another support post about a slowdown issue. So I hope you can get to the bottom of it.

    Actually I don’t think it is a fault with this plugin any more.
    I tried an alternative smtp plugin and had the same problem.

    I think the most likely cause of the problem is very slow SMTP handling by Microsoft Office 365 ( which is my organisations email system ). Their support forums have alot of similar reports of very slow handling via SMTP stretching back a couple of years (though their exchange email service is excellent)

    So apologies for raising a concern – It’s not this plugins fault.
