Plugin causes site to crash
-
Hi, I can’t be any more specific than the title.
I’ve been using the plugin for years without problem. I hadn’t implemented any changes in several months or installed new plugins – basically the site had been untouched for months. The only recent change was when I upgraded the version of WordPress (sometime last week?).
Last week the site inexplicably crashed and stayed down. It was difficult to trace the reason. I had no access to the WordPress backend. Cpanel showed that the CPU usage was double the allowance set by my host. The cpanel error log showed that the system was repeatedly trying to trigger index.php but it always timed out.
I disabled the plugins one by one and the site works again when I disable Responsive Menu.
I wish I could give you more precise information. I will add that this is not a high priority to sort out as it’s not my main site but obviously a miraculous fix would be appreciated.
