you need to see the image in order to see it on your blog. If you can’t see the image via the admin interface, make sure you have uploaded the image in the right folder, or check the permissions on the files or the folder.

Then, once you are able to see the image, go to Template tags to see where to add the get_cat_icon() function in your theme pages.

Why the update doesn’t shows automatically in WP Admin page?

Just because I have not published the update : I’m working on a new version. I’ll publish it this week if all goes well…

I can now see the icon images in the admin interface. I think my issue was not having the local and url paths set correctly.

Thanks for your time and attention, this is an awesome plugin and will allow me to do some very cool things with the site!
