plugin capacity

  • The issue is that a plugin I use do downgrade a native wp capacity.
    The plugin enables publishing 3rd party video link when admin properly.
    But as author the plugin disable this by stripping off the embed tags.
    Now I need that plugin. I have brought that issue up to the author extensively.
    So my support need is :
    1) Any idea how to tackle such plugin (Status by wpmudev) so as to prevent it to downgrade wp native video publishing capacities for author ?
    2) Is there a plugin or hack to enable roles/capacities on another plugin ?
    3) Any plugin to enable html5 embed tags ?
    4) something else in case ?
