Existing image comparisons still work, but new ones can’t be made and they can’t be edited anymore. Can you please check this?

  • Hi @Jos Klever?,

    Hope you are doing well.

Sorry to hear that you are facing an issue with this?“Image Comparison”?plugin. We have a new free plugin,?“Essential Blocks”?which includes this?“Image Comparison”?block along with other free blocks.

To use that, please first delete the “Image Comparison” and then install and activate the “Essential Blocks”. After that, visit?WordPress Dashboard => Essential Blocks => Blocks =>?enable the?“Image Comparison”?block.

We consistently update and maintain the Essential Blocks plugin. If you encounter any issues with this plugin, please let me know.

    Thank You

That’s not an option, because the existing Image Comparison blocks will break if I switch to Essential Blocks. And I don’t need 50+ extra blocks, ads to buy the premium plugin and all kinds of other stuff.

If you would like that Image Comparison users will switch to Essential Blocks, you should at least provide a conversion/migration option to replace the existing blocks.

Right now I’ve added another (simple) image comparison block plugin, so new blocks can be created and we’ll have to find some time to replace the old blocks and completely remove Image Comparison.

If you don’t support that plugin anymore, you should publish an update telling users they should not use it anymore and give an option to switch to EB (only when old blocks can be migrated) and after some time remove the plugin from the repository.

    Hi @Jos Klever?,

Greetings. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner and for the inconvenience.

We can understand your frustration; indeed, we are currently working on the development of Essential Blocks. Once it is completed, we will start working on the single plugin again. However, we appreciate your suggestion, and we will try to fix the issue as soon as possible.

    We appreciate your patience.
    Thank you.

You’ve failed me twice already, so I’m not gonna wait for the third time. As I said before, if you want to keep your users to trust your plugin(s), you shouldn’t break all existing content or make it impossible to create new content and break old content while promoting your other plugin.

I’ll do my best to keep all my clients away from all you plugins.

    Hi @Jos Klever,

Greetings. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced.

A new version of the?Image Comparison plugin has been released, including a fix for the issue you reported. Kindly update your plugin and recheck. You can also refer to the demonstration here.

    Please accept our apologies.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.
    Best regards.
