Plugin cannot be uninstalled – hidden and malicious

  • The following shows within WordPress side bar: LayerSlider

    When I check the settings for LayerSlider, it tells me it has Installed Version: 7.2.5??

    But this doesn’t get listed on the Plugin Directory, nor can I find it within the file directory of /plugins.

    There is no folder in there called layerslider

    Need to remove this plugin but cannot find it at all. This seems very odd behaviour for a plugin.
    This plugin being active and not updated is a potential threat vector for malicious attacks and I need to remove it asap.

    I have images as proof but cannot post due to policy.
