• Our server was down for about 24 for some reason and when it came back, sermon manager was deactivated. I tried to activate and received the following error code.

“Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”

“Fatal error: Cannot redeclare render_wpfc_sorting() (previously declared in /home/newson10/public_html/wp-content/themes/newsong/functions.php:1391) in /home/newson10/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sermon-manager-for-wordpress/includes/template-tags.php on line 137”

I’m not sure what this means or how to fix. Also, when I get sermon manager back, will I still have all the sermons I had in there?

Don’t worry about your sermon data as that is untouched.

As for the error, it looks like your theme “newsong” is barrowing code from sermon manager and therefore causing a conflict. I googled the theme “newsong” but couldn’t find anything. Where is that theme from?

Until you resolve the conflict between newsong and sermon manager you have to choose whether you want the theme or sermon manager active. Switch the theme and you will be able to activate sermon manager just fine.

The theme “newsong” must be a custom theme as New Song is the name of our church.

Is anyone else on your staff or project also posting to this forum? I’ve seen several threads relating to your church project and don’t want to get them mixed up.

It’s just me, I submitted a post approx 2 weeks ago and I came across a different issue and after not getting any hits on this post, I made another post about a week ago. If there are more than two for New Song Church, they aren’t mine.

Back to your original question…it sounds like whoever designed your theme decided to incorporate Sermon Manager parameters into the theme which puts them out of our reach now. Verify if this is the case before troubleshooting this issue any further.
