Ok so I am very confused.
I have a WordPress site that is currently on my localhost. I want to upload this to my live server but 123 reg makes this very difficult.
I have packaged and zipped up my localhost files and uploaded both the installer.php file and archives to my live server on 123 reg.
When going to https://emma-designs.co.uk/installer.php I am presented with a page asking me to enter my database information. I have set up a database in Manage MySQL Databases via 123-reg, and entered the information into that page however I get FAIL when trying to connect. Looking at tutorials all videos are setting up a user, but I don’t seem to have that option on 123-reg.
I have tried using cust-mysql-123-19, Emma-2017 and my password but it is not working.
    Any advise?
    I have contacted 123-reg also.

The Error Message I am getting:

    Host: Fail
    Database: Fail
    Version: no connection
Compatibility: This Server: [no connection] — Package Server: [5.6.35]

NOTICE: The current version detected was released prior to MySQL 5.5.3 which had a release date of April 8th 2010. WordPress 4.2 included support for utf8mb4 which is only supported in MySQL server 5.5.3+. It is highly recommended to upgrade your version of MySQL server on this server to be more compatible with recent releases of WordPress and avoid issues with install errors.
NOTICE: In order to avoid database incompatibility issues make sure the database versions between the build and installer servers are as close as possible. If the package was created on a newer database version than where it is being installed then you might run into issues.

It is best to make sure the server where the installer is running has the same or higher version number than where it was built. If the major and minor version are the same or close for example [5.7 to 5.6], then the migration should work without issues. A version pair of [5.7 to 5.1] is more likely to cause issues unless you have a very simple setup. If the versions are too far apart work with your hosting provider to upgrade the MySQL engine on this server.

MariaDB: If see a version of 10.N.N then the database distribution is a MariaDB flavor of MySQL. While the distributions are very close there are some subtle differences. Some operating systems will report the version such as “5.5.5-10.1.21-MariaDB” showing the correlation of both. Please visit the online MariaDB versus MySQL – Compatibility page for more details.

Please note these messages are simply notices. It is highly recommended that you continue with the install process and closely monitor the installer-log.txt file along with the install report found on step 3 of the installer. Be sure to look for any notices/warnings/errors in these locations to validate the install process did not detect any errors. If any issues are found please visit the FAQ pages and see the question What if I get database errors or general warnings on the install report?.

  • Hey @emmadesigns,

Checkout this question on the FAQs page I believe it may help or provide some clues about this issue:

? ? – I’m running into issues with the Database what can I do?
    ? ? – https://snapcreek.com/duplicator/docs/faqs-tech/#faq-installer-100-q

The tech support at 123-reg should be able to give you the exact perms you need to connect. If not in the FAQ is a script you can give them to check the usage of connecting to there server via PHP.

Let me know if this helps~

    Hi Cory

    Thanks for the reply.
I managed to get it connected but now I am getting another error

Please try again an issue has occurred.

    server code: 200
    status: OK
    response:

Then is installs a completely blank wordpress site but not mine.
I am not getting a response (error message) as to what the issue is and the annoying thing is I am now without a website as I had to delete my old site to allow space for my new one!

Before Deploying however I am getting this:

“NOTICE: In order to avoid database incompatibility issues make sure the database versions between the build and installer servers are as close as possible. If the package was created on a newer database version than where it is being installed then you might run into issues.

M provider said being its a sheared host there isn’t much they can do about that. So now I am at a complete loss ??

Under the advanced options in the Database section is a setting for MySQL Mode. You might try some options such as: NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION.

A related topic on the FAQ below may also help out:

? ? – What is Compatibility mode & ‘Unknown collation’ errors?
    ? ? – https://snapcreek.com/duplicator/docs/faqs-tech/#faq-installer-110-q

    Hope that helps~

    Hi Cory

This are what i have under Advances Options (I am not very technical).

    General
    Extraction Manual package extraction
    File Timestamp Current Original
    Logging Light Detailed Debug
WP-Config Cache Keep Enabled Keep Home Path
WP-Config SSL Enforce on Admin Enforce on Login

Under the MySQL section you should see something labeled “Mode”, are you not able to see that option?

    @emmadesigns Hello,

i’m having the exact same problem, are you using Godaddy host aswell ?

and if you manage to fix your problem please post the solution here

    Thank you
