I’m attempting to implement this plugin to replace an outdated method of calling GoToWebinar via custom code but it’s not performing as expected. The simple shortcode seems to call the API but only displays information while editing from the WP dashboard. The frontend displays the shortcode as text. The excludes don;t appear to be functioning either. I’ve “inherited” these websites from the previous admin and I realize there’s a lot to fix here but I need to start somewhere ?? This is a staged site on WP Engine but the live site is “broken” as well…

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @jayzer6,

I need more information on these issues. You said:

“The simple shortcode seems to call the API but only displays information” what information? Maybe it is displaying all the necessary information…please send a screenshot.

“The excludes don;t appear to be functioning either” what is the shortcode that you are using and what is the result you are seeing?

The plugin is pretty mature and has been well tested especially in the areas you mentioned. I recommend reading over the plugin FAQ thoroughly to see examples of how the shortcodes work if you haven’t done this already.

    Hi @jayzer6,

The issue of the shortcode not rendering on the frontend is something to do with your website builder I suspect. You should try the shortcode using the standard WordPress editor and see if that works. This is not an issue with the plugin though.

Regarding the shortcodes. It’s hard to tell from the screenshot but I don’t like the look of those quotes you are using around the shortcode. They look irregular. Try copying this shortcode:

    [gotowebinar exclude=”uAccept” exclude=”Citadel”]

AND also note you have no equals after exclude in your shortcode!

Thank you again for your speedy reply, Martin. Pasting your shortcode definitely had a positive effect but since the issue isn’t 100% resolved I believe you’re correct and that the editor in use appears to be somewhat unstable. I didn’t think the plugin was the problem but I wanted to be sure. I’m going to address some of the other outstanding problems with the site/theme I’ve discovered and attack the sitution from that angle. Thanks again for your quick assistance!
