    Hello,

I have activated BPS (with the secure.htaccess) on my site, and there has been some conflicts with the two mentioned plugins. JQuery Colorbox adds Colorbox/Lightbox functionality to images, grouped by post or page, while GD Star Rating allows you to set up advanced rating and review system for post types and comments in your blog.

Both plugins work fine when I’m logged in as Admin, but when I log out and visit the site as a regular user the two plugins cease to work. There is no error message, but GD Star Rating displays an everlasting loading message in pages ONLY, while in posts it works fine.

jQuery Colrobox doesn’t work at all, and the images are displayed “normally” (that is, as if viewed without the plugin).

The GD Star Rating is not that important, I could go without it in pages, but I would really like to get Colorbox to work. I’ve tried 3 Colorbox plugins and all behave in the same manner – working when logged in as Admin, not working when visiting the site as a regular user. Any help would be appreciated.

    The website is: https://coolawesomemovies.com/

    Thanks.

Ok testing both of these now. I have used GD Star Rating in the past without any conflicts with BPS. You may have another problem going on with your website and it just appears that these plugins are not working with BPS. I will have that answer for you shortly after testing.

Ok i have tested both of these plugins and there are not any conflicts.
Logged in as Admin – both plugins work
Logged out – both plugins work

I doubt that this has anything to do with the problems on your website, but…
Have you activated all BulletProof Modes?
Both the Root and wp-admin BulletProof Modes must be activated together.
Do you see all green status messages on the BPS Security Status page?
Is this a standard single WordPress website installation or is it a Network / MU installation of WordPress?

Have you done anything unusual with your wp-admin .htaccess file like adding IP address blocking or any other sort of additional security measures in that .htaccess file?

Have you done anything like trying to hide your wp-admin folder?
Have you added directory password protection for the wp-admin folder?

This might be related to a caching plugin (not likely) or browser cache (very likely) so just in case clear all caches.

These problems could also have something to do with your Hosting account itself. So after you have looked at what might be wrong with your website and .htaccess files (if you added additional security measures in either your Root or wp-admin .htaccess files) then check with your Web Host to see if this is Server related or a problem with your Hosting Account.

Indeed, it must’ve been a caching issue or something, because after flushing my WP and browser caches, the GD Star Rating plugins does work, while the Colrobox behaves oddly – it works in some posts, while in other it doesn’t:

    Working: https://coolawesomemovies.com/2012/05/largo-winch-ii-the-burma-conspiracy/

    Not working: https://coolawesomemovies.com/2012/05/largo-winch-the-heir-apparent/

But it appears it is an issue with the Colorbox plugin itself, and not BPS. Anyway, thank you for the extremely fast response.

Yep just making my daily rounds to check and see if any questions were here. ?? Thanks for confirming that things are mostly ok. You might also want to check into increasing your memory limit. You can do this by creating a custom php.ini file for your website. Thanks.
