[Plugin: BulletProof Security] 403 errors on mp3 media only

    It appears that it is working now. I was able to play the mp3 and also test that BPS is protecting the site. If you are still seeing a 403 error then try clearing your Browser Cache. Please confirm that everything is now working. Thanks.

    Yes, I discovered the issue was with the .htaccess file within the wp-content folder. It was only allowing certain file types so I removed that and all is working well now.

    Does Bulletproof only generate .htaccess files for the root and the wp-admin folder? I’d still like to pinpoint what generated those restrictions in the first place.

    Yes, BPS only generates .htaccess files in the Root and wp-admin folder so maybe another plugin that you have installed created an .htaccess file in your wp-content folder? Or maybe even the Theme you are using? You could try searching all your files for the search terms “mp3” or “.htaccess” to find the code that is doing this.
