[Plugin: Bulk Page Creator] Plugin adds an H1 tag with the page title *into the content field*

  • I just finished creating a whole bunch of pages with this plugin and have now discovered that every page has an H1 tag in the *content* field with a duplicate of the title. Now I have to go and delete that from every page that was created (or delete the plugin, find one that works properly, and rebuild my pages).

    Very frustrating. Avoid this plugin until this gets fixed. There is no point in using it.

    Hey Mike,
    The plugin does this intentionally as with most “pages” (not posts) on a WordPress theme the page title only shows in the navigation and not on the actual page content – so I thought would be good to create some initial content and taken the page title as a H1 tag.

    I take your point that this might not be a desirable affect for some users and will add an option to opt-out from adding the H1 to the content in the next version.

    Excellent idea, and thanks for the quick response. Personally I’ve never seen a theme that didn’t show the page title, but I mostly make my own custom themes, I guess.

    Hi Mike,
    Will do that as soon as I can.

    I also write my own themes and I only enter the post content not the title – as sometimes the clients prefer using a different title inside the page (as oppose to the one showing on the navigation)

    For example “About” on the navigation and “About Us” on the page…

    Cool! I take it all back. You rock! ??

    Now what would make it perfect is if you could type a page name in the field, then press Enter, have it enter that page, and then put the focus back in the field. Then you could just type, hit enter, type, hit enter, etc. Right now you have to reach for the mouse after each entry.

    No probs… I agree adding Enter as a trigger key would be a good idea – I’ll get on it and let you know when its sorted…

    Is it possible to add a feature that allows you to choose which template to use when adding pages?

    I’m using Thesis Framework and all of my pages are created with ‘No Sidebars’ template. Otherwise this plugin seems to be a perfect fit for my project needs ??

    Cold you make the plugin have a list of pages to add – option

    IE multiple pages from a list
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    ETC

    I am thinking about adding an importing tool that will allow us to do that – I’m hoping to have something done for the next plugin release.
