    It would be awesome if this plugin can work with define ( 'BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG', true ); defined for a multisite. If I use that line now, the error message states,

    BuddyPress Courseware Error while forbidden user tried to add a new assignment.

    This occurs when trying to add an assignment, add a schedule, Manage Bibliography or Update course.

  • Mee too ?? There are some very interesting buddypress-plugins, that need WPMU and therefor can not be used with scholarware currently – running on WPMU would be a logical progression.

    I think it was working prior to 3.0.4 and 3.0.5 as I had tested it with a faculty member before we did the 3.0.4 update. After the 3.0.4 update the faculty member is getting the error displayed by the OP. I have checked and the faculty member is the admin for the group and is also a teacher according to Courseware. Maybe Boone or Stas can figure out what is going on.

    joshmac/serverdog – Just to be clear about a general BuddyPress point: BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG is *not* required to have MU/MS functionality (despite the misleading name). BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG’s purpose is to allow BuddyPress-content (like member profiles) to be displayed in the context of multiple blogs. BP’s default behavior on MS is that all profile links go to a single subdomain, eg example.com/members/boonebgorges. BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG enables the existence of example.com/members/boonebgorges and blog1.example.com/members/boonebgorges, etc. I find the whole thing confusing myself, and I recommend that you do NOT enable BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG unless you are able to articulate clearly to yourself and others why you need it, and not simply WordPress Network mode/MS ??

    Jon – It is likely that your issue is unrelated to the one above, as I think that the ‘forbidden’ error message is just a generic error message for permissions problems. If you don’t have BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG enabled, then your problem likely lies elsewhere, in the 3.0.5 upgrade.

    BP_ENABLE_MULTIBLOG works ok with Courseware, I got that tested and confirmed!

    @jon,
    there was an issue recently with permissions, where another profile field with value Teacher was defined and was conflicting.

    Also, to be sure somebody is a teacher, by visiting his profile page in WordPress, he should be able to see something like this in the footer:

    Thanks Stas and Boone. I’ll sit down with the user and look at her profile page.

    Hmm, when I look at her BuddyPress profile it shows Teacher next to Courseware. When I view her WordPress profile I do not see any of the additional capabilities listed as in your photo Stas.

    Where should I start digging to fix things? As I said it was working and she had posted an assignment in another test group. It was only after the update (I think) that she started getting this error message.

    Try to toggle Student/Teacher option for her profile.

    Thanks Stas. That did the trick and now I see all the extra capabilities on her WordPress profile.

    Glad to hear that.
    Looks like WordPress upgrades, flushes somehow user capabilities… weird.
