[Plugin: Buddypress] Private massaging not working.

Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to bp-default theme. Could very well be some conflict from old plugin or theme.

Also, default behavior is that private messaging is between “Friends”, so your friendship request must be accepted before you can send any message to a member.

EDIT – you meant “messaging” not “massaging” right? ??

Somehow it’s not possible to send messages between existing WP users and new Buddypress registered users.

Yes, but messaging still not possible.

You may want to post this on the buddypress.org support forums.

It *is* possible, so either something is not working on your site, or you’re expecting something to work in a different way from how it does.

What versions of WordPress and BuddyPress are you using? What theme? What plugins have you got active? Multisite or regular WordPress? Any errors in your web server’s error log (you may need your host to help you with that bit).

Have both users logged in to the site at least once? Have they created a friendship between the two, which has been accepted? What are the usernames of both users?
