[Plugin: BuddyPress Groups Extras] Not able to View group pages from front end

I am unable to view group pages from the front end, even as group admin/admin

The page displayed says
“This is somewhat embarrasing, isn’t it?
It seems we can’t find what you are looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help.”

Then it lists
Recent Posts
Most Used Categories
Archives
Tags

So it would appear to be looking for “posts” not “pages”

As I said in another thread I can find and view the page from the back end

It also seems that by default it opens a new tab
the link shown on mouseover is https://localhost/wpress/groups/san-fransisco-collaboratory/gpages/sfc-spreadsheet

whereas at the back end the link is to

https://localhost/wpress/?gpages=sfc-spreadsheet

if I change the url to the above of course it finds it but if I change it to

https://localhost/wpress/groups/san-fransisco-collaboratory/gpages=sfc-spreadsheet it does not – implying that the path is inappropriate.

Does anyone have a similar problem?
It seems maybe that bpge-loader.php is the right area to look but I don’t know.
