  • Please try again, this is not related to the plugin, but sometimes bp will hang. Could you reproduce it yourself again?

We tried a number of times, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, etc. – group blog stage always loaded to a blank page. Suspect it’s something to do with the new theme architecture in BP 1.1?

This is strange. It is completely compatible with BP1.1 architecture as it was build on that. I’ve tested numerous installations and have not been able to reproduce this error.

It must be a conflict with another plugin you might have installed. Could you list blog related plugin please?

I am having the same issue with the group blog. I have no other blog plugins that could be affecting this.

We can not seem to reproduce this error. We’ve used this plugin successfully as of version 1.2.4 on bp 1.1.x. Please report back if it works again or if you find solutions on your end which we should implement.

I am also having this problem. I am running WPMU 2.8.4, BP 1.1.2. , Groupblog 1.2.4

When I get to the groupblog section of creating a group, it shows a blank page, and I can’t get past it. If I hit next, I get a “wordpress failure” screen.

    It does create the group.

If I log into the admin section (wp-admin) it all works fine.

I solved the problem – I was using a Kaltura plug in, and it was somehow conflicting. Once I disabled that, it worked.

    Great ??

I’m having this same issue. I have buddypress working on an internal network where I have no .com’s, etc.

When I try and install the blog portion related to this plugin, it comes up with a blank page. It seems to be trying to install to an invalid address, perhaps because it is looking for a .something – basically it’s looking for https://address instead of something like https://hostname/bpinstall/groupblog

Either way, there is no error, it just gets to a blank page that I can’t go beyond. Any help?

Blank pages are difficult to trouble shoot. Could be related to your setup, but I work with localhost at the office and I have no problems.

You could try to quickly install a fresh copy of WP Multisite on your network with just BP and bp-groupblog. See if the error still persists. In that case it could be a network issue. If it does work there could be a plugin conflict somewhere.

Are you using the latest version of bp-groupblog and bp?

Please forgive me being a total newbie.

I installed BP. I downloaded the GroupBlog zip and uploaded it to the right spot, and moved the themes under it over into my regular themes folder. I activated it. Yet I cannot see any GroupBlog themes in the drop down!? See this image here:

    https://caclive.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/issue1.jpg

I had a preexisting group that worked before GroupBlog, but that now shows as a blank page. Also, I tried creating a new group, and when the options panel gets to step #3 (the group blog step) it shows no options except the forward and backward step-through buttons.

I’ve disabled all the other plugins that seem capable of being culprits. I’m wondering if you have any ideas about the lack of any GroupBlog themes showing? Thanks.

    @DougJospeh

Make sure you have moved the themes from the themes folder of the plugin to the themes folder of your wordpress install, so:

    move the content of bp-groupblog/themes/
    to wp-content/themes/

It looks like you might have done the following:

    wp-content/themes/themes/

Without this working other issues could arise. Just make sure your setup is working and than verify the rest.

No, there was an obscure setting somewhere in which I had to activate the themes for the current blog.

Once I did that, the main groupblog theme became available in the drop down.

However, I ran into some other problems and gave up. I may revisit it.

I will try to remember what the other problems were.

Thanks for taking the time to reply though!

    no problem ??
