[Plugin: BuddyPress Activity Stream Ajax Notifier] Feature request / usability enhancement

Hi, thanks for this plugin, it’s very cool. I have a feature request…

If I post an update and then don’t navigate away or refresh, after the time interval I receive the new activity alert for my own update, the content of which is already on screen in front of me. I click the alert to refresh, and the visual feedback is that nothing changes except the alert disappears – confusing. Would it be possible to tweak it not to alert the poster to their own activity?
