• When using WP3 in a multisite setup and trying to network activate the plugin it will at look fine until you go to any admin page for a site at which point you get the message.

Broken Link Checker installation failed. Try deactivating and then reactivating the plugin.
    Installation log follows :

I have found that If you network deactivate the plugin and then activate it per site its fine. Also if its activated then deactivated on a site before its has been network activated it will be fine on that site, but not on other sites.

  • Yes, this is a known issue. Network activation is currently not supported by BLC. The only way to get it to work in a multisite setup is to manually activate it on each site.

Do you have plans to make it properly install on a MS setup?

    Not at the moment.

Well, there goes a useful plugin. ?? I just consolidated a bunch of sites into a multisite install and now BLC is broken. I really do hope you can find the time to make this work.

If you activate it separately on each blog it should still work. It’s only “Network Activate” and the like that are not supported.

Although it WILL crash your server, but that’s not the program’s fault, of course. That’s the server’s, so it doesn’t count and not worth mentioning, right? And before you challenge this statement, beware, I have copious logs showing exactly the damage it causes.

Proper Network Activation << this plugin is the solution (at least it worked for me).

Download, install and activate the plugin. Then install the Broken Link checker plugin and network activate it. Or if it’s already activated, deactivate first and then reactivate.
