• I’ve been researching this issue for days and can’t get a straight answer…

Since activating the plugin, my mobile site “breaks” in that no css, widgets, etc. are loaded (just an empty frame). It’ll work fine for a few hours, break, then “magically” fix a few hours later. The process repeats, and repeats, and repeats…

I’ve tried implementing a few fixes from support forums (manual minify, user groups, etc.) to no avail. The issue persists, and it seems a lot of users are having the same problem.

I’m shocked mobile functionality isn’t fundamentally built into this plugin. What’s the solution?

    Thanks!

    Liz

  • @amiga500 you beat me to it! We came to the same conclusion, though, so that’s most likely the issue.

This is excellent info except I get the same error when I try to log into my dashboard…what now?

(Kimberly) Unfortunately my dashboard is also non-functional with the same error at login attempt…what now? Is there a way at this through the file manager in control panels provided by iPage?

We’re making headway! Thanks @amiga500 and @andreslucero for the time you’ve taken to investigate.

I’ve disabled the mobile optimizer in Jetpack, see here:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5yuCt4yll4teFBTbU9BVkttY2c/view?usp=sharing

Upon purging the cache, I get the following error:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5yuCt4yll4tQzBQVmFlRFYyVWM/view?usp=sharing

This error last about 5 seconds before disappearing. Does it mean anything?

I ask because the mobile version is now working (cross your fingers!). At least as much as I’ve seen it work (there’s still a lot of custom CSS that isn’t loading).

Still waiting to hear back from my theme provider. I’ll follow up with their feedback.

@plauer4 What errors are you referring to? Does your question apply to mobile functionality?

Hi @tickett0. That specific error is a caused when wordpress is having a temporary problem communicating with Cloudflare. A remote http request was made but the return result from CloudFlare was empty (the body of the result would have been appended after the words “got unexpected results” (it wasn’t suppose to be empty). It looks like CloudFlare is doing something (e.g. brief maintenance) and isn’t an issue with w3tc, your configuration, nor WordPress. If it persists just let us know.

    Regards
    Kimberly

@amiga500, the problem has persisted every day since Friday (possibly longer). I don’t think this is maintenance unfortunately.

    @amiga500 and @andreslucero,

Whew! After almost 5 hours of troubleshooting with my theme provider, I think we’ve made some headway. We completely wiped the existing child theme and replaced with something new. It seems to have fixed the css functions that weren’t displaying on mobile.

I’ll need to continue monitoring for 2-3 days to see if this remains stable. The site failed once already, but I’ll give it another chance.

Ongoing issues (though not necessarily pertinent to the ticket):
    – Purge cache error still appearing. Hasn’t changed in days.
    – Jetpack’s mobile optimizer still breaks the mobile site. Communicating with theme provider now to see what the deal is.

    Will report back. Thanks!
