    hello
i moved my site to a windows+plesk server and then i cannot login to admin panel (normal user can login). The plugin is apparently looking for some resource by rewriting a path somewhere, and wp breaks.

    i get this: File(C:\myhost\main\sites\mysite/wp-content/plugins/https://www.mydomain.com/wp-admin/edit.php)

it should be like this File(C:\myhost\main\sites\mysite/wp-content/plugins/wp-admin/edit.php)

but i dont know where the code does this.
    thanks for your help

  • Is this only an issue with The Events Calendar?

Have you also tried deactivating all other plugins and reverting to a default, unmodified theme and does the same thing happen at that point?

Hi legion1978 – going to assume you don’t need any further help here and will mark this resolved accordingly, but please don’t hesitate to re-open or create a new thread if you do need further help (in which case, please also try those aforementioned troubleshooting steps).

    Thanks!

hello. sorry i must haved missed your reply on the email.
    the issue remains, afaik.

yes i disabled everything. created a new plugin folder and copied 1by1. thought i only did this with the current theme. i cannot disable the theme cause the site is live.. i could try late night.

thing is, i have to rename the plugin folder in order to access the admin area, so wp disables it, then rename again and reactivate on my way out.

that being said, i have recently [heavily] argue about my hosting with godaddy.. turns out plesk does give this kind of path errors. its a nightmare for me actually.
i will try configuring some dir policies on there and try again. because ive had trouble with other themes and stuff.

so in conclusion: yes the plugin is having trouble accessing some paths. but this is most likely because of security in plesk. dont know if checking this out looking forward future releases could be worth?.

thanks for your help ill post back what i find.

We’ve actually been doing some work on this issue to try and workaround it: best we can tell it only affects a subset of Windows-based hosting environments – which seems to tie in with what you are telling us – and is also compounded by some issues in WordPress core. So a complete solution may not be possible but, hopefully, we’ll be able to do something to mitigate this.

That said, any changes have yet to be tested so I can’t I’m afraid give a timeline for when/if they will be released.

its alright mate. i had to move my sites away from plesk anyway. but since godaddy says something like “updates and other stuff may affect all hostings in the future” meaning “we can just install plesk all the way around” this may be something to keep an eye on. but no rush ??
    thanks

Great, thanks for letting us know – hopefully all is good with your sites in their respective new homes ??
