    Hi there,

I received a notification from WOrpdress that GIve was breaking my site due to the following error:

An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 10 of the file /home2/xxxxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/give/includes/gateways/stripe/stripe-sdk/lib/Stripe.php. Error message: Cannot declare class Stripe\Stripe, because the name is already in use

Do you have a suggestion on how to fix this please?
    Regards!John

  • Hi there,

We can help resolve that with you no problem. Typically when we hear things like that are happening, it tends to be a JavaScript conflict with another plugin. I’d suggest using the Health Check plugin to troubleshoot that. It will allow you to deactivate all plugins and put your site on a default theme ONLY for yourself — your live visitors will not see that. We have a write-up on that here:
    https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/troubleshoot-wordpress-websites-health-check/

Then you can enable plugins one at a time and test again until you see the problem again. Then let me know which plugin caused the conflict and I can take a closer look at replicating the issue for you.

    Thanks!

    Thank you for the response!

OK – I reverted to the previous version of your plugin (2.5.2) and everything is working fine.
I see on your changelog for the most up to date version (2.5.3) you mention something to do with the Stripe SDK:

Fix: Resolved compatibility issues with other plugins using the Stripe SDK by initializing it manually within the included GiveWP Core Stripe gateway class. We tested this alongside many of the most popular plugins to ensure smooth sailing alongside eachother. #4193

Is this related to the error I am facing?
I will make some time to go through the conflict with other plugins in the next day or so.

    Cheers.

Hi @mrlennyman — that is most likely the cause, since we have a couple others with related issues. Version 2.5.4 is not far away and should resolve this with finality. We’ll keep you posted. Thanks!
