I agree! I looked into it briefly, but the group list page is a BuddyPress core template file.

Not saying it’s impossible, but that and the thorny question of how a tree should be paged mean it probably won’t happen for a while.

    David,

Yes, I agree that a tree view would be very useful. I see where you are coming from on the “core” code point and understand that you will not want to mess with that. Would it be possible to build a widget that does this?

In any case I really appreciate the spirit of this plug-in. At some point Groups do need hierarchy in order to organize them when a lot of groups exist.

I am wondering how I can leverage this plug-in in it’s current form. I have installed it and it is working while not causing any issues. I like the concept. Can you tell me what would be a good use for this plug-in other than the creation of different URL’s and the ability to view the parent group in the group admin panel? Is there something that can be done with the URL’s or is that more beneficial for serious web developers or SEO?

    Thanks for creating and sharing!

    Sean

    Yeah!

I totally agree with you. I have activate the plugin but it look the same as before in appearance (except the one more tab on the admin navigation bar!).

It’s much better if we have a tree-view appearance. Look at my directory – the same:

    Hi DDean

I have activated BP Groups Hierarchy

When I click tree view it just refreshes the page as if nothing has happened.. however I have definitely structured my groups into a tree (over 40 minutes !)

Any ideas? Can I PM you the link?

Haven’t heard of that issue before. Something must be happening to the response.

Feel free to PM me a link and I’ll be happy to take a look.

Cant seem to be able to pm you here?

    I have a similar problem.
I have 19 groups, 6 of which are parents to groups.

The group list shows 19 groups
The group tree shows “There were no groups found.”

When viewing tree view, I seem to have a conflict with another BuddyPress plugin BP Album+ (BP Album – 0.1.8.10). Even after disabling BP Album+ plugin, I am now getting a blank tree view rather than any groups at all. Any ideas?

BTW – I’m now running 1.1.3 and it still says “There were no groups found.”
